FAQ
Questions owners ask us
Straight answers. If yours isn't here, ask on the intro call.
Do you prepare tax returns or do audits?
No. We don't prepare income tax returns or do audits. Your CPA does that. We keep your books clean and hand your CPA a tied-out year-end package. Payroll tax forms, like quarterly reports, W-2s and 1099s, are part of our payroll work. Don't have a CPA? We can help you find one.
How do you bill? Hourly?
A fixed monthly fee, not hourly and not per phone call. Franchise accounting starts at $489 a month. Business Accounting, payroll, cleanup and consulting are custom quotes. You get a ballpark range on the intro call.
Do I need monthly service?
Not always. Some businesses need monthly. Others need quarterly. We'll tell you which fits on the intro call.
Who will I actually work with?
A named account manager, with a backup. They're your first contact and bring in the right expert when you need one.
Do you work in QuickBooks Online or Desktop?
Both. You invite us to your file as your accountant, so no password sharing. Our team are Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisors, including Advanced certification.
Can you work in my existing QuickBooks file?
Yes. We work in your file and map what's there instead of rebuilding it. Nothing gets reclassified without you knowing.
Can you show profit for each of my stores?
Yes. Each store gets its own class, so you see a P&L for every store, plus the total, on one page.
When is my month closed?
On a predictable date each month that we agree on when you start.
Who makes sure my payroll taxes get paid?
We do. We aim to have each deposit done and confirmed a business day before it's due, and we track every one.
I got a letter from the IRS or the state. What do I do?
Send us a photo of it through the secure portal. We'll respond and tell you what's next.
How do I send documents safely?
Through the secure upload link from your account manager. Uploads are deleted 90 days after the request closes. We never ask for passwords, SSNs or bank numbers by email.
Do I need to have my books in order before the intro call?
No. No books or reports needed. Lots of people call because their books aren't in order.
Start with a short call.
No books or reports needed. You leave knowing what's broken, a ballpark range, and a dated next step.
